CCIDC eNews for Certified Interior Designers

The CID Pages are Coming Soon!

New Online Marketing Directory for Certified Interior Designers
The CID Pages, an interactive tool which will help Certified Interior designers display their personalized information and a photograph of their work (or of themselves) will be online soon.

The CID Pages will allow any current Certified Interior Designer to create their own listing to help hundreds of California consumers (and others around the world) who are searching for interior design professionals.

Certified Interior Designers will be able to:

  • Create a listing for 12, 24 or 36 months
  • Edit listing and change photo anytime
  • Provide ‘specialty’ keywords and practice information to help consumers (or prospective employers) find the right designer.
  • Each listing will provide generous space for a personalized description. CCIDC encourages liberal use of keywords such as “space planning, kitchen design, children’s rooms, color consulting, tenant improvement” and the like, as consumers will be able to search for a designer by using keywords of what they are looking for (or, they can search by city, zip, county, and more).

In addition to name, address and telephone number, listings provide a Web site link and a spam-free e-mail tool so a prospective client can contact a designer directly from their listing.

    Sample Listing (below).
With permission from a current Certified Interior Designer, we have created an example of what a typical listing might look like. Note the description has biographical information as well as a generous amount of ‘specialty keywords’.

Frequently Asked Questions about The CID Pages

Is it mandatory that all Certified Interior Designers create a listing?
No, not at all. This is an opt-in benefit for Certified Interior Designers in good standing with CCIDC who wish to participate in it.

    Will it cost anything?
There will be a nominal fee to cover the technical development, marketing and maintenance costs.

Why doesn’t the CCIDC Web site already have a directory of Certified Interior Designers?
Actually, we already do. It is an interactive database where a prospective consumer or employer can
verify Certification status.  This database provides name, Certification number and whether the designer is current, expired, inactive or revoked. As there are serious privacy issues with respect to posting a designers phone number and address without their permission, CCIDC is creating The CID Pages as a way for designers to be in control of the information they wish to publish online.

When will The CID Pages go online?
CCIDC has been designing and developing this project for several months. We are currently in the “beta-test” phase and making adjustments to assure the quality of this marketing tool. We expect to roll this out before the new year.

This is great! How do I sign up?
Once our beta-test is over, we’ll make an announcement where all Certified Interior Designers can register online, create (and preview) their listing, then pay for it.  In the meantime, we’d like to know if you are interested, so
please send us an e-mail with your name and CID#.
If you use Yahoo or other web-based email, you may experience a problem with the above link. If so, send e-mail to the CCIDC office with your name, CID # and indicate you are interested in The CID Pages. If you have already e-mailed us that you are interested, no need to send your information again. Thank you.
