Frequently Asked Questions about “The CID Pages”

Q. I work for someone else. Should I still have a listing?
A.
Absolutely!  While your name and certification number needs to be on your listing, your employer can advertise the firm you work for and post photographs of projects you have designed or been involved with in a significant way.

Q. OK, that sounds good, but what if I leave the firm, does my listing remain online?
A.
You would have to make arrangements with your present employer about this and it depends on who pays for the listing. CCIDC only allows individual CID’s to have listings and not firms, so technically, you would still have the listing but you would have to remove your employers information.

Q. I don’t have a Web site can I still have a listing?
A.
YES! “The CID Pages” was designed as a mini-Web site which provides your contact information, a description of your work, up to 8 photographs, a way to email you directly, and has a "tell-a-friend" viral marketing feature which links directly to your individual listing.

Q. How do consumers find the CCIDC site and “The Certified Interior Designer Pages”?
A.
Our Web traffic comes from many places including search engines and referring Web sites. Visitors find us by searching key phrases such as interior designers, interior decorators, Certified Interior Designers, California interior designers, how to select interior designer and others. Currently, “The CID Pages” is linked five times on the CCIDC site from the Home page, Consumers pages and our News page. We will soon embark on a large consumer marketing campaign via press releases, handouts at consumer shows, etc.

Q. How do I update my listing?
A.
Simply log in to
www.ccidc.org/listings/login and enter your username and password. You can update your listing and change your photographs as many times as you wish, 24/7/365.

Q. How will consumers find my actual listing?
A.
When a Consumer clicks on “The CID Pages” at
www.ccidc.org/listings/index.html they will be able to search for you by specialty, city, state, county, country, zip code, first and last name. If they are searching for a kitchen designer and your listing has the keyword “kitchen” in your description, your listing will come up.  Also, “The CID Pages” has two built-in Tell-a-Friend features (one on the main search page and one on your actual listing). To promote your Certification, you may also wish to post your listing address (URL) on your own Web site and put it in your ‘auto-signature’ (that is attached to your emails); you may want to print your listing and mail it to prospective clients. We designed the listing to fit on one 8.5”x11” page.

Q. Okay, I’m convinced!  How do I sign up?
A.
To subscribe, simply
read the Terms; pay securely online; and after payment you will receive a link to register. It’s really quite easy! You can also find detailed instructions here.
